As my title states, I am once again a resident of The Spain. My mind is a whirlwind of shoulds--obligations, tasks to complete, things to pack, things to prepare, and all I find myself able to do is sit on the couch and read books, crippled by these last few weeks before I leave The Spain and Indiana for good.
I believe this has been formally announced here, but I am moving to Denver in August. Part of a small pilgrimage of GCers, I will take my place in the mile high city...desperately hoping to find employment and learn a new place. Before that happens, in these last two weeks of chaos, the following events must occur: two 30 hour work weeks, two weddings of very good friends, reuniting with friends who have been out of the country or out of the state all year, packing up things that aren't going to Denver and getting them home, packing for Denver, finding homes for all the furniture, etc that isn't coming along, submitting more resumes and cover letters, and you know, managing to stay sane in the midst of all this.
Ack.
That's about all I can say right now. Very soon I must jump into action, but so far this day has been relaxing (ok, except for getting lost twice). Assembly had a joint service with Buen Pastor up at Camp Friedenswald...it was really nice, good to hear a service in both Spanish and English, to fellowship at lunch, and to realize that Assembly is now my home. I have friends and mentors there, I feel challenged spiritually, but I also feel safe. Life is good. Now, remind me again why I'm leaving this support system behind?
But really, life is good if not just a bit overwhelming. And did I mention that I have about 15 pounds of delicious free cheese? I'll miss the perks of working at the co-op. And now, off to tackle my mountain of laundry.
